Petition:  Get the U.S. Out of the UN!

No More Taxpayer Dollars to this Corrupt, Globalist Organization!

Dear President Trump, Secretary of State Rubio, and Members of Congress:

The United Nations is irredeemably corrupt and does not deserve to receive taxpayer money.  Historically the United States has been the largest funder of the United Nations, contributing between 11 and 13 billion per year, between assessed and voluntary payments.

The U.N. has strayed from its original mission to promote international peace.  To the contrary, it has become embroiled in appalling scandals, including, for example:

• Widespread accusations of sexual exploitation, including rape, by so-called “Peacekeepers.” These accusations include “sex for aid” schemes, often involving vulnerable women and children.  In 2024 alone, more than 100 incidents of sexual misconduct were reported, many involving children.
• The U.N.’s “Oil for Food” program in Iraq (1996 – 2002), resulted in billions of dollars diverted to support the regime of Saddam Hussein.
• The U.N. failed to prevent the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Further, although the United States properly declared that the Chinese Communist Party is committing genocide against the Uyghur population in Xinjiang, the United Nations has refused to use that designation.
• On September 22, 2024, the United Nations quietly adopted the “Pact for the Future,” which would give the United Nations “the central role” in directing the global response to a “complex global shock” – and could give rise to a global digital police state.

We are delighted that President Trump issued his Executive Order of February 4, 2025, directing the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, to “conduct a review of all international intergovernmental organizations of which the United States is a member and provides any type of funding . . . to determine which organizations . . . are contrary to the interests of the United States and whether such organizations . . . can be reformed.”  

We believe that the United Nations regularly acts contrary to the interests of the United States, and that it cannot be reformed.  We urge President Trump with withdraw the U.S. from the U.N.

Further, we applaud legislative efforts to withdraw the U.S. from the U.N. Senator Mike Lee has introduced the DEFUND (“Disengaging Entirely From the United Nations Debacle”) Act of 2025 (S.669), co-sponsored by Senators Marsha Blackburn and Rick Scott.  Similarly, Rep. Chip Roy has introduced the companion bill in the House (H.R. 6645).  These bills call for the immediate withdrawal of U.S. membership and funding from the U.N. and its affiliate organizations, repealing the United Nations Participation Act of 1945 and revoking diplomatic immunity currently enjoyed by U.N. officials in the U.S.  The U.S. needs such legislation.

Whether by Executive Order, legislation, or preferably both, we need to Get the U.S. Out of the U.N.!
